As a Manager, you'll lead and be accountable for commercial and/or agribusiness lines processing services unit. This includes having responsibility for quality underwriting processes and service to agents and customers, associate management and development, team building and training. In addition, you'll help the Director with planning, budgeting and reporting.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Manages the implementation of consistent workflow across all teams in the unit.
Leads the execution of the processing function, if assigned, according to established guidelines and processes.
Manages the execution of underwriting, screening and policy analysis, if assigned, according to guidelines and processes, state/regional objectives, and optimal practices.
Provides a high level of customer service to all customers. Handles the resolution of complex problems. Responds to advanced problems from agency, policyholders and insurance department and other regulatory agencies.
Handles direct sales in support of target sales objectives, customer needs and agent support and interaction.
Strengthens relationships with agents and customers. Assists in providing necessary service support to Underwriting, Sales, Claims or other service center operations.
Implements corporate initiates and execution of state/region profitability programs.
Handles division budget; provides input to department and center budget. Monitors compliance with budget
Participates in special projects as assigned. May assist in leading support functions such as accounting, office services or systems.
Manages associates, including performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow planning, hiring and placement and disciplinary actions.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director. Leads a team of Processing professionals.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in business management or related field preferred; prefer degree and/or technical insurance coursework, e.g., CPCU.
Experience: Eight years of related experience in commercial and/or agribusiness product lines support including underwriting, customer service, direct sales and/or processing preferred. Prior management experience required.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Detailed knowledge of commercial and/or agribusiness lines insurance products, state regulations, management techniques, direct sales, underwriting policies and procedures and optimal practices. Ability to lead, coach and develop associates in all aspects of commercial lines product support. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, for interaction with associates, staff management, agents and customers and center leadership.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Working Conditions: Requires the ability and availability to work in a call center environment including extended periods of sitting at a personal computer, use of headset and overtime as needed. Flexible scheduling may be needed for adequate coverage.
