They are seeking an early-career engineer for the Associate Solutions Engineer role, which involves supporting internal teams and external customers by delivering relevant manufacturing solutions and improving process efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Support quoting, data organization, and creation of technical documentation for complex customer programs, including Bill of Materials (BOMs), Request for Quotes (RFQs), and specification reviews
- Assist with internal cost-modeling and quoting-tool development to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Assist with supplier communication, tracking of quality documents, and other aspects of the solution lifecycle from award through delivery
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to gain a comprehensive understanding of the full solution lifecycle, bridging the gap between engineering, sales, and operations
- Lead a capstone mini-project aimed at enhancing process efficiency, such as automating a quoting workflow, developing a reporting dashboard, or streamlining a documentation process
- Develop and demonstrate best practices in a variety of manufacturing disciplines relevant to our customers and partners
Skills
- Completed Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
- Demonstrated foundational expertise and knowledge in key manufacturing principles, including familiarity with CNC Machining, Additive Manufacturing, Wire harness Assembly, Sheet Metal and Welding
- Approximately 3-5 years of experience in an engineering/manufacturing role (including internships or co-ops)
- Demonstrated experience in CAD software
- Demonstrated experience or coursework in interpreting Manufacturing Drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail in managing multi-line data (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, or ERP/CRM systems)
- Effective communicator and team collaborator with a strong interest in bridging engineering and business
- Driven and self-motivated with the ability to manage assignments with minimal oversight and a desire to learn the custom manufacturing industry
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience as a Xometry A&D customer or supporting Xometry A&D customers
- CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
