The Business Development Associate will identify and build relationships with potential clients, leveraging AI tools and conducting research to support the sales process.
Responsibilities
- Research premium consumer brands that align with Lustre's ideal client profile
- Identify companies experiencing growth, launches, funding, retail expansion, leadership changes or other buying signals
- Build highly targeted prospect lists focused on quality over quantity
- Research decision makers and understand their businesses before outreach begins
- Use AI tools to accelerate company research and personalize outreach
- Create concise company briefs highlighting opportunities, brand observations and potential partnership angles
- Continuously explore new AI workflows that improve efficiency and research quality
- Help evolve Lustre's internal outbound playbook as new tools emerge
- Execute thoughtful outbound campaigns across LinkedIn and email
- Write highly personalized outreach tailored to each prospect
- Track conversations and follow-up opportunities
- Help maintain a consistent yet authentic presence throughout the sales process
- Maintain accurate records within Copper CRM
- Prepare research and background information ahead of sales calls
- Assist with proposal preparation and sales materials
- Identify trends across industries and share observations with the team
- Contribute to initiatives such as proposal creation, sales calls, project recap content, market research, competitive intelligence, sales process improvements, CRM optimization, and new AI workflow implementation
Skills
- Approximately 1–3 years of experience in business development, sales, account management, marketing, customer success, or another client-facing role
- Exceptional written communicator with strong attention to detail
- Enjoys researching businesses and learning how companies grow
- Naturally curious and asks thoughtful questions
- Highly organized and enjoys creating systems
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Interest in branding, design, marketing, eCommerce or consumer brands
- Excited about using AI tools to work smarter and continuously improve their workflow
- Wants to grow into a broader sales role over time
