The Business Development Manager – National Specifications will develop strategies to enhance product specifications, build relationships within the commercial design community, and drive sales initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to increase national specifications and approved product usage for Anatolia and Aeterna product lines
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within national accounts and strategic vertical markets
- Achieve and exceed established sales and specification targets
- Maintain a high level of market awareness, including industry trends, competitive activity, and specification requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with national architectural firms, design firms, developers, end users, and distribution partners
- Collaborate with distribution partners to identify opportunities, support sales initiatives, and drive specification growth in key markets
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers and stakeholders throughout the specification process
- Conduct presentations, training sessions, and product demonstrations for architects, designers, distributors, and sales teams
- Educate customers on product capabilities, applications, and value propositions
- Represent Anatolia and Aeterna at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities
- Track project pipelines, specifications, and account activity through CRM and reporting systems
- Monitor sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth
- Prepare and deliver regular reporting and insights to internal stakeholders
- Partner with internal sales, marketing, and product teams to align business development initiatives with company objectives
- Support product launches and strategic growth initiatives
- Share market feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation
Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, specifications, architectural sales, or national account management within the building materials industry
- Proven success achieving and exceeding sales and specification goals
- Experience working with architectural and design firms, commercial projects, and distribution networks
- Strong understanding of the specification process and commercial construction industry
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Valid driver's license required
- Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field preferred
- Experience with CRM platforms preferred
