[Remote] Distribution Designer (Remote Contract)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. InfraRec is seeking an experienced Distribution Designer to join their growing team. The role involves designing and preparing electrical distribution projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards and collaborating with engineers and project managers. Responsibilities • Design and develop electrical distribution systems for overhead and underground utilities in compliance with utility standards and regulations • Prepare detailed construction plans, work orders, and material lists for distribution projects • Perform load calculations, voltage drop calculations, and coordination studies for distribution networks • Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, GIS systems, and specialized distribution design software • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and utility clients to ensure projects meet technical specifications and timelines • Conduct site visits (as needed) to gather data for design development • Ensure designs comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company protocols • Provide technical support during construction, answering queries and assisting in problem resolution • Continuously update design skills and stay current with new technologies and methodologies in distribution design Skills • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience • 4-5 years of experience in distribution design (overhead and underground) • Proficient in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS, and utility-specific design tools) • Strong understanding of utility distribution standards, safety codes, and industry best practices • Experience working with various voltage levels and load calculation methodologies • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting with minimal supervision • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with remote teams and clients • Experience working with multiple utility companies and understanding different regional regulations • Professional certifications in distribution design or engineering (e.g., NESC, PE) • Familiarity with advanced distribution management systems (ADMS) or other related technologies Company Overview • America's power and infrastructure demands are growing faster than the existing workforce can support them.
