E Source is a research, data/analytics, and technology-focused professional services firm dedicated to the Utility industry in North America. As a Data Analyst Intern, you will support the Data Analyst team by updating data tools, assisting with research requests, and collaborating to translate findings into clear summaries.
Responsibilities
- Update and populate E Source data tools with thorough, accurate information after receiving training
- Support research requests from utility clients and internal teams, including contributions to reports, articles, and webinars
- Organize, evaluate, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data drawn from primary and secondary sources
- Help document analytical procedures and suggest improvements to data workflows
- Collaborate with analysts and subject-matter experts to translate findings into clear written and visual summaries
Skills
- Are a current undergraduate or graduate student, or a recent graduate, ideally pursuing a degree in an environmental, economic, energy, data, or related field
- Are naturally curious about utilities, energy efficiency, sustainability, or the broader energy industry
- Bring strong attention to detail and care about getting the data right
- Have solid research, critical-thinking, and organizational skills
- Communicate clearly in writing and verbally, and can explain what the data shows to a non-technical audience
- Work well across teams, ask thoughtful questions, and follow through on commitments
- Have coursework or project experience involving data entry, data manipulation, or basic analysis
- Are comfortable with SQL, Python, R, or similar tools for working with data
- Have used Excel, Power BI, or Tableau to summarize or visualize data
- Have any prior exposure to the utility, energy, or sustainability sectors
