Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Bowman Consulting is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator II - Benefits to provide administrative support for the Benefits team. This role involves assisting employees with benefit enrollments, managing COBRA administration, and ensuring compliance with benefit-related processes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate benefits onboarding activities for new employees
- Educate new hires on eligibility, enrollment deadlines, and available benefit options
- Monitor completion of benefit enrollment requirements
- Process and verify new hire benefit elections within established timelines
- Review and process employee requests related to marriage, divorce, birth/adoption, loss of coverage, reduction in hours and dependent changes
- Verify supporting documentation and ensure compliance with plan rules and deadlines
- Communicate status updates and next steps to employees
- Process tuition reimbursement and educational assistance requests
- Verify eligibility and required documentation
- Track approvals, reimbursement status, and payment processing
- Communicate program guidelines and deadlines to employees
- Assist with COBRA eligibility reviews, benefits carrier file errors and notifications
- Assist in the support of training and development activities organized by the department
- Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of all HR-related information and communications
Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Two or more years (2+) of HR experience required
- Basic knowledge of general HR principles, COBRA and applicable state and federal laws
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- B.S. degree in human resource management, business administration, or another related field preferred
- Experience using HRIS systems and databases, UKG Pro preferred
