The Linux Systems Support role involves installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software, as well as monitoring and enhancing system functionality.
Responsibilities
- Provides Systems Administration support for an organization, functional unit, or line of business, building on responsibilities such as:
- Administers development, test and production servers, including reloading, re-imaging and debugging problems
- Installs, removes, and upgrades software packages on test, development, and production servers
- Performs daily monitoring of network systems, independently initiating proactive measures to ensure functionality, connectivity, and load balance
- Troubleshoots systems and host environments, identifying and resolving faults, inconsistencies, and systemic issues
- Evaluates, recommends, and implements solutions to ensure systems functionality and compliance with company standards
- Provides network and systems evaluation and operational reports
- Updates systems records and ensures maintenance of accurate information
- Ensures computer programs in company use are properly licensed, adhere to company standards, and are operational and functional
- Assists systems users by creating instructional how-to guides and by providing technical information and training
Skills
- BA/BS degree and 2–4 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working expertise in Linux systems administration
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- U.S. Citizenship and U.S. residency required
