Take2 Consulting, LLC is seeking a SOC Mission Network Engineer to serve as the technical backbone of a 24x7 Security Operations Center. This role involves the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of SOC infrastructure and cybersecurity platforms across various environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day O&M for SOC infrastructure including system administration, patch management, configuration management, software upgrades, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting
- Manage and maintain on-prem infrastructure and virtualized technologies hosting SOC applications
- Administer network monitoring and network security solutions within the SOC enclave
- Maintain vulnerability scanning solutions, threat intelligence integrations, and other cybersecurity technologies supporting SOC operations
- Support deployment of new capabilities, technology upgrades, and platform integrations
- Coordinate with vendors, infrastructure teams, and cybersecurity stakeholders to resolve operational issues and implement enhancements
- Support system authorization activities and compliance with NIST and federal cybersecurity requirements
Skills
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, systems administration, cybersecurity engineering, or security operations support
- Experience supporting networking and network security tools including Zabbix, Juniper, Cisco, and Gigamon or similar platforms
- Hands-on Red Hat Linux and VMware system administration experience
- Demonstrated experience administering and maintaining Qualys VMDR or similar enterprise vulnerability management platforms
- Strong understanding of patch management, configuration management, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening
- Experience troubleshooting complex system, application, and integration issues in enterprise environments
- Bachelor's degree
- Active Secret clearance required
- Prior SOC support experience in federal government, DoD, or Intelligence Community environments
- Familiarity with containerization, virtualization, and infrastructure automation technologies
- Experience supporting ATO/system authorization activities under NIST and FISMA frameworks
