The Government Contract Recruiter will be responsible for sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates for various government contracts, ensuring compliance and building candidate pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Source qualified candidates using job boards, social media, networking, referrals, resume databases, and other recruiting resources
- Review resumes and applications to determine candidate qualifications and contract eligibility
- Conduct phone screenings and initial candidate interviews to assess experience, qualifications, availability, and overall fit
- Present qualified candidates to hiring managers
- Maintain ongoing communication with candidates throughout the hiring process
- Develop and maintain talent pipelines for current and future government contract opportunities
- Recruit for a wide variety of government contract positions, including medical, behavioral health, administrative, operations, security, facilities, logistics, and professional roles
- Understand and recruit to contract-specific education, licensing, certification, and experience requirements
- Assist candidates with required pre-employment documentation and onboarding requirements
- Work closely with credentialing and compliance staff to ensure candidates complete all required hiring documentation
- Understand federal hiring timelines and prioritize recruitment activities to meet contract deadlines
- Ensure recruiting activities comply with company policies and government contract requirements
- Maintain accurate candidate records within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
- Maintain confidentiality of applicant information and sensitive documentation
- Assist with recruitment reporting as requested
- Develop positive relationships with candidates, hiring managers, credentialing personnel, and program leadership
- Provide exceptional candidate experience through timely communication and follow-up
- Represent the company professionally in all interactions with applicants and external recruiting partners
- Participate in recruiting strategy meetings and provide market feedback regarding hiring challenges and labor trends
Skills
- Minimum three (3) years of full-cycle recruiting experience
- Minimum two (2) years recruiting for government contracts or government-funded programs
- Experience recruiting across multiple job categories, including healthcare, administrative, operations, security, facilities, or professional positions
- Working knowledge of federal background investigations, security clearance processes, or government suitability requirements
- Experience recruiting for positions requiring professional licenses, certifications, or specialized credentials
- Strong sourcing skills using Indeed, Linkedin, job boards, referrals, and other recruiting platforms
- Experience utilizing Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruiting databases
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple requisitions simultaneously
- Ability to work independently while meeting hiring goals and deadlines
- Experience recruiting for DHS, ICE, DOJ, VA, HHS, FEMA, DoD, or other federal agencies
- Experience recruiting candidates requiring Public Trust, Tier 2, Tier 4, or security clearances
- Knowledge of federal onboarding and credentialing processes
- Experience with healthcare staffing and licensed clinical recruiting
- Experience recruiting for high-volume startup government contracts
- Established network of government contract professionals
