They are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with extensive experience in Python backend systems to design scalable architectures and debug complex systems.
Responsibilities
- High-performance Python services using FastAPI
- Event-driven and asynchronous distributed systems
- Stateful workflow engines and orchestration services
- Complex PostgreSQL data models (including temporal and geospatial data)
- Redis-based messaging, queues and pub/sub systems
- Authentication and authorization services
- Containerized applications deployed with Docker
Skills
- 8+ years building production backend systems
- Deep Python experience (beyond scripting)
- Built and owned backend services end-to-end
- Strong FastAPI, Flask or similar experience
- Excellent PostgreSQL knowledge (schema design, indexing, performance tuning)
- Experience with asynchronous or event-driven systems
- Docker as part of normal development workflows
- A passion for writing clean, maintainable production software
- Distributed systems
- Redis, Kafka, Celery or similar messaging technologies
- Geospatial or time-series data
- Async Python (asyncio)
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Observability, tracing and monitoring
- Authentication (OAuth2, OIDC, RBAC)
