Sky Limit Systems is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead the development of safety-critical avionics software for next-generation aerospace systems. The role involves mentoring a high-performing engineering team and ensuring compliance with DO-178C standards while delivering certified airborne systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of embedded software engineers through the full development lifecycle — architecture, verification, integration, and deployment
- Own DO-178C compliance for safety-critical, real-time avionics software
- Partner cross-functionally with systems, hardware, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver certified airborne products
- Drive technical innovation, process improvement, and the long-term roadmap for embedded aerospace software
Skills
- 10+ years of embedded software development experience, including prior engineering leadership or management responsibility
- Strong background in aerospace, avionics, or other safety-critical systems
- Deep knowledge of the DO-178C software lifecycle and hands-on experience with real-time embedded applications and debugging tools
- Experience with avionics communication protocols (ARINC 429, CAN, RS232/422/485)
- Strong communication skills and a track record of developing engineering talent
