Kantata is a company that provides the Kantata Cloud for Professional Services™, helping businesses optimize resource planning and operational performance. They are seeking a Sr. Consultant, Advisory Services to serve as the services and implementation expert during the sales cycle, working with Account Executives to translate business needs into implementation plans.
Responsibilities
- Join Account Executives and Solution Engineers on discovery calls, demos, and prospect meetings to represent the services and implementation side of the engagement
- Build trust with prospects by clearly articulating how the solution will be deployed and what their implementation journey will look like
- Develop and present Statements of Work (SOWs), services proposals, and implementation plans that support the overall deal strategy
- Collaborate on deal strategy, pricing, and risk assessment to keep deals moving while protecting deliverability and margin
- Lead scoping conversations to understand the prospect's environment, goals, timelines, and constraints
- Estimate the effort, cost, timeline, and resourcing required to implement the solution, and document assumptions and dependencies clearly
- Translate scope into pricing in partnership with Sales and Services leadership, balancing competitiveness with realistic delivery
- Design the high-level architecture of the proposed solution to fit the customer's technical and business landscape
- Define the structure and phasing of the implementation—milestones, workstreams, and the recommended delivery approach
- Recommend the right team composition and engagement model for a successful rollout
- Identify any customizations needed to meet the customer's use cases
- Assess integration needs with the customer's existing systems (e.g., CRM, ERP, HRIS, finance, data warehouses) and define the technical approach at a level sufficient for scoping and estimation
- Surface technical risks, feasibility concerns, and trade-offs early, and propose alternatives where appropriate
- Ensure a clean handoff to the delivery team after close, so commitments, scope, and assumptions carry through to kickoff
- Capture patterns from the field and feed them back into reusable scoping models, templates, and best practices
Skills
- 5-7+ years in professional services, solution consulting, implementation, sales engineering, or a related customer-facing role at a SaaS company
- Demonstrated experience scoping and estimating software implementation projects, including effort, cost, and timeline
- Strong understanding of how SaaS solutions are architected, configured, customized, and integrated with other systems
- Excellent discovery and requirements-gathering skills—able to ask the right questions and turn answers into a concrete plan
- Confident, polished communication and presentation skills with both technical and business audiences, including executives
- Comfort operating in a sales environment: responsive, deadline-driven, and motivated to help close deals without overcommitting delivery
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across Sales, Delivery, Product, and Legal
- Flexibility to support a global business with the majority of opportunities based in North America and UK/Europe
- Experience writing or contributing to Statements of Work and services proposals
- Familiarity with the Professional Services Automation market
- Background in a delivery or consulting role (so you've lived the downstream impact of scoping decisions)
- Experience with common integration patterns and tooling (APIs, middleware, iPaaS)
- Project management or services-delivery methodology exposure (e.g., Agile, waterfall, hybrid)
Benefits
- This position is eligible to participate in a Company Wide Bonus Plan.
