RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking a Systems Engineer to work with the Resilient Connectivity Product portfolio at Collins Aerospace. The role involves participating in the systems engineering lifecycle and collaborating with a dedicated team to develop mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with a highly motivated and dedicated team of professionals and other internal/external stakeholders while executing model-based systems engineering development activities for mission critical programs
- Participate in the systems development lifecycle, developing typical systems artifacts that include trade studies, system design, requirements definition, requirements allocation, requirement traceability, ICD creation, systems integration, verification testing and qualification
- Participate in and help facilitate Agile ceremonies, Agile sprint reviews, user story refinement and end of sprint product demos
- Work directly with stakeholders to answer technical questions, help solve problems, and support successful project execution
- Gain experience developing secure systems while collaborating with technical experts and applying modern systems engineering methods
- Gain hands-on experience with modern modeling tools and next-generation systems engineering practices
Skills
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written)
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance after start date
- Experience in one or more areas of the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements development, design, integration, verification, validation, and technical documentation
- Experience in one or more areas of MBSE, including system modeling, requirements traceability, or architecture development
- Experience using the Atlassian resource suite, specifically: Jira, Jama, and Confluence
- Working knowledge of narrowband communication technologies
- Experience with MIL-STD hardened environments, ensuring compliance with military specifications for ruggedness, durability, and security
- Recent and relevant experience with the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements capture, decomposition, system design, integration, verification, and validation
- Demonstrated understanding of fundamental systems engineering deliverables, such as requirements specifications, interface control documents, and verification matrices
- Experience defining system requirements and collaborating with software and hardware teams to ensure successful integration, performance, and alignment with overall system architecture
