Research Project Manager (RPM) within Mercy Research will:• Manage the overall coordination, status reporting, financials, schedules and stability of project-oriented work efforts, ensure that project goals and objectives are met within agreed upon time, scope and resource requirements.
• Maintain status reports and project metrics and appropriately triage and categorize all incoming work. Understand dependencies between project issues, external influences, etc. and act to develop remedies as needed.
• Interact significantly with project team members (business, clinical and technical team members), vendors, finance personnel, and Mercy multiple functional or support departments.
• Share information with coworkers and encourage coworker participation in Mercy Research activities.
• Provide information to project team members regarding operational, change management, and trial management strategies and opportunities.
• Develop, maintain and facilitate the usage of various datasets, databases and medical records systems necessary to facilitate study start-up, conduct and support.

Research Project Manager – Data Management Support

Mercy Research is seeking a Research Project Manager (RPM) – Data Management Support to play a pivotal role in advancing our research capabilities. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, service-oriented environment and is excited to support research teams through expert data management and cross-functional coordination.
In this role, you will:
- Support clinical research activities by serving as the primary resource for data acquisition, extraction, and management using standard clinical data platforms such as SlicerDicer, Reporting Workbench, and REDCap.
- Act as the key liaison between Mercy Technology Services (MTS), the Research - Enterprise Data and Analytics Office Value Delivery Team (Research VDT), and Mercy Research, including direct communication with research investigators.
- Promote research data literacy by assisting with education and training initiatives for Mercy Research caregivers and investigators.
A Day in the Life
As the RPM – Data Management Support, you will work closely with the Clinical Research Director for Real World Data and Innovation. You’ll be the go-to person for fellow research caregivers who may have limited experience with data tools, helping them navigate study data requests and providing technical support when needed.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Leading communication between MTS, EDAO, and Mercy Research to ensure seamless collaboration and understanding across departments.
- Interpreting and translating the needs of various stakeholders to support interdepartmental requests and discussions.
- Tracking and analyzing data trends to identify opportunities for programmatic improvement.
- Representing Mercy Research in meetings with legal, financial, vendor, and technology teams.
- Facilitating exploratory meetings with investigators and VDT members to clarify study needs.
- Utilizing Microsoft Office, project management platforms, clinical data tools, and network-approved AI solutions to enhance daily workflows.
- Operating independently in a dynamic environment where creative problem-solving and innovative thinking are highly valued.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 3 years healthcare or clinical experience demonstrating capabilities and success applicable to the role. Demonstrated experience may be gained from prior roles, through completion of college degrees, or a combination of applicable professional and educational experiences.
- Preferred Education: Advanced degree or Bachelor's degree with a professional certification relevant to health project management.
- Preferred Experience: 5 years of experience in business development with project management expertise in a healthcare environment.
- Preferred Certification: Professional certification in a research or project management area.
- Other Skills and Knowledge:
- Excellent communicator, both orally and in writing.
- Superior organizing and coordinating skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage complex relationships.
- Able to manage multiple, simple to moderately complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

- Clinical research skills, understanding, and practice experience.
