Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and validate advanced computational models for simulating climate systems and predicting future climate scenarios. Analyze large-scale environmental and climate datasets using sophisticated statistical and machine learning techniques. Optimize model performance and efficiency for high-performance computing (HPC) environments. Collaborate with climate scientists, atmospheric physicists, and oceanographers to integrate diverse scientific knowledge into models. Contribute to the development of new algorithms and computational approaches for climate research. Effectively communicate complex modeling results and scientific insights through reports, presentations, and publications. Mentor junior computational scientists and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team. Ensure data integrity, reproducibility, and adherence to best practices in scientific computing. Stay current with the latest advancements in climate science, computational modeling, and data analysis techniques. Requirements Ph.D. in Climate Science, Atmospheric Physics, Oceanography, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. Minimum of 6 years of post-doctoral or relevant industry experience in computational modeling and scientific data analysis. Expertise in programming languages commonly used in scientific computing, such as Python, Fortran, or C++. Strong experience with numerical modeling techniques and high-performance computing (HPC) environments. Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, R). Deep understanding of climate system dynamics and atmospheric/oceanic processes. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative software development practices. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
