Summary:
The Senior Service Engineer – Solar Rooftop is responsible for ensuring efficient operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of rooftop solar PV systems. The role involves handling preventive & corrective maintenance, customer coordination, performance monitoring, and ensuring system uptime in line with SLA commitments.
Technical Responsibilities
Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of rooftop solar PV plants.
Diagnose and resolve faults related to modules, inverters, strings, junction boxes, cables, earthing, and SCADA.
Ensure maximum plant availability and performance ratio (PR).
Analyze generation data and identify performance degradation or abnormalities.
Supervise testing, commissioning, and system upgrades when required.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and site SOPs.
Operational Responsibilities
Plan and execute service schedules across assigned rooftop sites.
Coordinate with vendors/OEMs for warranty claims and technical support.
Maintain service logs, breakdown reports, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and corrective action reports.
Support audits, inspections, and performance reviews.
Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability at sites.
Customer & Coordination Responsibilities
Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers.
Address customer complaints and ensure timely resolution.
Provide technical explanations and performance reports to clients.
Coordinate with internal teams (Projects, Design, SCM, Finance) for issue resolution.
Personal Responsibilities
Take ownership of assigned sites and service deliverables.
Maintain high standards of professional ethics, discipline, and safety.
Ensure timely communication and reporting to seniors and stakeholders.
Mentor and guide junior service engineers/technicians.
Continuously update technical knowledge on solar PV technologies.
Be available for emergency breakdowns and critical service calls when required.
Represent the organization professionally at client locations.
