The Staff Accountant will assist with month-end close support, prepare balance sheet reconciliations, and provide administrative accounting support while ensuring adherence to internal controls and process improvements. Responsibilities - Assist with DDA-related close work, including preparing support schedules, tie-outs, and flux explanations as assigned - Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules related to deposit accounts and other assigned areas - Prepare corporate allocation schedules - Identify, investigate, and resolve reconciling items; escalate timely when issues indicate upstream process gaps - Scan and route inbound mail to appropriate stakeholders; maintain a controlled intake process to ensure timely handling of notices, checks, and time-sensitive documents - Tax and external correspondence - Assist with ad-hoc accounting requests and operational projects (process improvements, documentation, control support) - Ensure adherence to internal controls, documentation standards, and deadlines; proactively identify risks, inefficiencies, or recurring issues and propose improvements - Support audits and internal requests by providing clear workpapers and explanations Skills - Bachelor's degree in Accounting - 1+ years of relevant accounting experience, including exposure to month-end close and reconciliations - Strong Excel skills (pivots, lookups; comfortable working with large datasets) - Experience using an ERP/accounting system (NetSuite preferred) - Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines - High judgment and ownership mindset; able to independently drive items to closure - Clear, professional communicator (written and verbal), including with external counterparties - Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities - Experience using an ERP/accounting system (NetSuite preferred) Benefits - Excellent health coverage and life insurance benefits - 401K with an immediate 3% company match - PTO, Company Holidays, and Flexible Holidays - Company-sponsored Mental Health Benefits, including 1:1 therapy - Over $1,000 each year to spend on your personal wellness - Monthly WFH stipends totaling over $1,000 annually - Generous, paid parental leave covering up to 20 weeks of leave for birthing parents and up to 12 weeks of leave for all other parents - Access to financial coaches and education sessions - Weekly catered lunches and fully stocked kitchen pantries - Community-based volunteering opportunities Company Overview - Bluevine empowers small businesses with innovative banking products designed for them.
