Key Capture Energy is a company focused on optimizing energy solutions, and they are seeking a Transmission Analyst to support their development portfolio. This role involves using power flow modeling and analytical tools to optimize interconnection costs and enhance market performance.
Responsibilities
- Scope, run and automate studies using power flow models and other tools in support of key decision points for new and existing BESS development projects across multiple geographic areas
- Assist with scoping and interpretation of third-party power flow and production cost studies
- Produce internal memos and presentations on transmission upgrade costs associated with existing development projects
- Executive production cost model studies to support broad market theses, commercial opportunities, and nearer-term price forecasting
- Identify and implement improvements to short-term price forecasts
- Build and maintain internal work aids and automation to assist with above responsibilities
- All other duties as required
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline
- Experience with power flow and production cost modeling tools (e.g., Siemens PSSE, PowerWorld Simulator, PROMOD, Dayzer)
- Proficient in Python, SQL, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work in a small team
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or 2 years of experience in electrical engineering, planning, or operations in the power sector
