About the Role Our client, a leader in advanced materials science and manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Senior Polymer Chemist to join their innovative research and development team in Denver, Colorado . This role is critical for the design, synthesis, characterization, and application of novel polymer materials. You will be responsible for leading key research projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the development of next-generation products. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of polymer chemistry, synthesis techniques, and material characterization methods. Key Responsibilities Design and execute synthetic routes for novel polymers with tailored properties. Characterize polymer materials using a range of analytical techniques (e.g., GPC, NMR, DSC, TGA, FTIR). Investigate structure-property relationships to optimize material performance. Develop and optimize polymerization processes for scale-up. Collaborate with engineers to translate material discoveries into manufacturable products. Troubleshoot material-related issues in product development and manufacturing. Stay current with the latest advancements in polymer science and technology. Author technical reports, publications, and patent applications. Mentor junior chemists and research associates. Ensure all laboratory activities comply with safety standards and regulations. Requirements Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field with a strong focus on polymer science. Minimum of 5-7 years of industrial research experience in polymer chemistry. Proven expertise in various polymerization techniques (e.g., free radical, anionic, cationic, condensation). Strong proficiency in polymer characterization methods and data interpretation. Experience with structure-property relationships and material design. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and experimental design skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting technical findings. Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid setting in Denver, Colorado . Familiarity with material processing and application development is a plus. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
